NO BRUSH, NO SPONGE, JUST HANDS
If its good enough for Pat McGrath, its good enough for me.
I’ve been experimenting with different products AND application. Like most things, one size does not fit all. So when I was getting frustrated with how my tinted moisturizer was wearing, I finally looked at how I was using it with the help of Gloss Angeles podcast (a must listen fellow beauty lovers).
Kirbie was chatting about how she watched Pat McGrath applied her latest foundation to the models, with her hands. This gave the models a more natural, skin-like look. She applied it methodically and took her time as if it were a skincare routine.
Since my tinted moisturizer wasn’t laying the way I had hoped, I left the sponges and brushes behind and focused on really applying. At the end of the day, its a MOISTURIZER, why was I quickly rubbing it on my face?
After working the product into my skin and taking my time, it was transformative. I went there, I was transformed. My skin had the barely any makeup look and lasted throughout the day.
All this to say, take into consideration HOW you’re applying product. Some foundations work best with a brush, while your tinted moisturizer may just need a little TLC (wink).
