The Brunette Blend - Patlately - Beauty Secret/Tip

He’s an amazing capturer of moments and skincare enthusiast - he loves skincare just as much as we do! If you check out his photos, you may think, ‘is he airbrushed?’ Surprisingly, no. We had to catch him for his beauty secret/tip. An incoming email with the subject line, ‘My lil secret,’ spilled the simple and effective tip that anyone can learn from.

Patlately’s skincare tip is…

"Honestly, one of the biggest things that have driven my passion for skincare is through research and knowing my skin type. I can suggest or promote a product that I love, but it might not necessarily work for others skin types. That said, I found that one of the most daunting aspects is knowing where to begin and what products to choose. What has helped me most is researching the main skin types (dry, combination, oily, sensitive, and normal) and going from there.

I found that I have combination skin. So, I started researching what my problem areas are (i.e. large pores) as well as what products can resolve them while complying with my combination skin. For instance, my face can feel or appear oily on my t-zone and dry on other areas of my skin - so I double cleanse first with Botanics nourishing Organic Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm that softens skin while drawing out impurities. I then use a Jeju volcanic pore cleansing foam from Innisfree that attaches to sebum and cleanses pores. I finish off with a calming toner, serums, and mattifying moisturizer to regulate sebum and oil production. If I feel dry, I love using Squaline oil from The Ordinary!
