Could This Be the Hair Styling Tool of Your Dreams?
Let’s have a chat about the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer, shall we? People either LOVE or HATE this tool and if I’m being 100% honest, I can see both sides. Before we jump in, if you aren’t familiar with this crazed tool, here is what it claims to do:
“The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer is a designed Hot Air Brush to deliver gorgeous volume and brilliant shine in a single step. The unique oval brush design smooth hair while the rounded edges quickly create volume at the root and beautifully full-bodied curls at the ends in a single pass, for salon blowouts at home.” [Source]
Let’s begin. I love blow outs, however, when I do it the traditional way, I look like someone on an informercial that forgot how to pour milk into cereal. Just spazzy. So this all-in-one hair dryer brush is like my dream tool.
While this is can be considered a hair dryer, you shouldn’t be using it to completely dry your hair. In my opinion, it really should be treated like a traditional styling tool (and not the Wet to Straight kind. CRINGE). Hair should be nearly to completely dry OR just straight up dry. This is going to save you so much time and I personally feel it offers a better result. You’ll use the same motion as you would the traditional way.
So this has three settings: high, low and cool. My only con with this is that it blows HOT, hot air. BUT, I think there are ways to minimize the exposure.
Tips for using the revlon Hair dryer
Use on nearly dry to completely dry hair to reduce ‘drying’ time.
Use a heat protectant.
Alternate between the settings. High obviously blows at a faster rate and it’s hotter (better for styling). Low is slower and feels like it’s more on the warm side. Cool feels the same as it does on a traditional hair dryer.
Use the tool for touchups. Its great for fixing those front pieces of hair and adding that va-va voom toward the crown.
Use on dry hair to quickly style. The heat allows you to style with in 1-2 passes per section.
Treat your hair every so often with this bad boy.
It’s really hard for me not to like this and it would be PERFECT if there were some adjustments in regards to heat. It’s a time saver, nearly banishes frizz and really allows for a sleek, styled look in under 10 minutes. I even saw a girl at the gym using it in the locker room, so there’s that, too. It’s portable.
